History

The North Queensland Swimming Association is one of seven regions inside Swimming Queensland and has been in existance for over 40 years. Over the years the Region has produced a number of swimmers who have competed at an International level. Our depth of State and National competitors each year is one to be proud of, considering the vast distance our Region covers and the very different lifestyles within it. As well as swimmers we also produce a large number of high quality Officials who participate at National and International meets.

We hold 2 meets each season, NQ Championships and NQ Distance.

Area

Our Region is the largest in area and covers from Cardwell in the north to Mt Isa in the west and Sarina in the south, with Townsville and Mackay being the main bases. Due to the vastness of our area we incorporate many different communities including farming, minin, tourism and general regional living.
